What do YOU think? Completely Hollow. Familiar sand dollar logo imprinted on one end, a tiny hole on the other side. Only one solitary little fancy egg shell like sphere. Found on this beach today.
This beach, being Loreto Bay where the sunrise this morning had me wandering in rapture with cup of coffee and IPad from 5:30 AM till I came to and followed R and Moxy home for breakfast.
Little miracles regularly occurring entertain me even when it is too windy to paddle.
Give up? This is a sea urchin skeleton and I had no idea how varied and colorful the skeletons can be. And look at this image of one under electron microscope:
